The extra prefilters hold a large part of the coarse dirt before the water reaches the actual aquarium filter (external filter).

The prefilter (4004320) is simply installed instead of the intake manifold. The water is sucked all over the mud flap (filter basket) all around.

This is equipped with filter material that can be easily cleaned and replaced.

For cleaning, remove the dirt trap - most simply with the planting pliers - only.
